PublicationCorporate Social Responsibility and Job Pursuit Intention of Employees in Vietnam( 2020)
;Linh Viet HOANG ;Hieu Minh VUVu Minh NGOis facing a severe shortage of human resources in both quantitative and qualitative terms. The role of human resources management (HRM) becomes extremely important. Recruitment is considered the first major function of HRM practices and is the cornerstone of successful in business. In order to improve the recruitment strategy, recruiters need to better understand job pursuit intentions (JPI) of job seekers. Therefore, this study investigates how four dimensions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) affect JPI among employees working in the logistics sector in Vietnam. The secondary data are from previous studies and published newspaper articles. Meanwhile, the primary data are collected from consultation with 10 experts and through five in-depth structured interviews with 30 randomly-selected employees as well as 288 survey questionnaires returned from employees in the logistics companies in Vietnam. The findings show that economic citizenship, legal citizenship and ethical citizenship are positively related to JPI of job seekers, where economic citizenship appears to be the most influential factor. PublicationDeterminants of Success of University Students in Vietnam: An Empirical Study( 2020)

NGUYENThis paper investigates the determinants of students’ success in Vietnam through conducting online interviews and surveys with 2,500 Vietnamese students at eight famous universities in Vietnam. By applying both SPSS 22 and STATA software, the study is to evaluate the impact of four driver factors, which affect GPA, language efficacy, and personal achievement. These factors are psychological perspective, home environmental, student demographic, and school environmental. The research results emphasize a positive effect of psychological and home-environmental determinants, but the negative effect of school environmental factors on the students’ success. Besides, the relationship between demographics and student success was tested and indicated that male students have a better language learning ability, but a low level of academic achievement than female students. The results also point out the impact of religious affiliation and ethnicity on personal achievement. Non-religious students are better achievers than those having a religion or those in minority ethnicity. Moreover, accumulated schooling years are negatively associated with students’ success. The more working experience students accrued, the higher possibility they are successful. Finally, the finding provides an insight into students’ success that might be useful to government authorities and other universities in designing policies for enhancing the quality of education. -
PublicationEmployee empowerment and empowering leadership: A literature review( 2020)Hieu Minh VuEmpowerment fosters employee’s creativity, quality of work-life, spirit of teamwork and organisational effectiveness. organisations do not only need to empower employees but should also encourage empowering leadership. Empowering leadership connotes the sharing of power and motivating employees to crave for superior performance. This paper focuses on literature in the employee empowerment and empowering leadership contexts. Considering the role people play in organisations, it is important to understand the impact of employee empowerment and empowering leadership on organisational outcomes. The author used historical data and findings from previous studies to draw insight on the subject. Based on our review, it was observed that employee empowerment fosters employee performance, job satisfaction, organisational commitment, customer satisfaction, productivity and business growth. Empowering leadership have been examined from the structural and motivational theoretical perspective. Several studies lend credence to the positive influence of empowering leadership on employees’ psychological empowerment. The author proposed some recommendations for managers to implement

PublicationFactors Affecting Job Pursuit Intention in Hotel Industry in Ho Chi Minh, Viet Nam( 2020)
;Linh Viet HOANG ;Hieu Minh VUVu Minh NGOGiven the rise in international tourism and the rapid growth of the Vietnamese economy, the hospitality industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s commercial hub, has been facing severe labor shortages due to competition with other fast-growing parts of the economy. These struggles to acquire high-quality employees is strangling future growth and placing new importance on the role of recruitment. To better understand the effectiveness of an organization’s recruitment strategy, recruiters need to ascertain the Job Pursuit Intention (JPI) of job seekers to efficiently align an applicant’s work notions with the organization’s goals. This study aims to investigate the factors impacting on JPI among employees working in the hotel sector in Ho Chi Minh City. Secondary data are from previous studies and primary data are from consultation with 10 experts, group discussions and five in-depths structured interviews with 15 random employees and 302 survey questionnaires with employees working in three five-star hotels. Cronbach’s Alpha, EFA, T-Test, ANOVA are used for statistical analysis. The findings show that compensation, career advancement, and work-life balance affect JPI of job seekers, in which compensation is the most influential factor. Furthermore, recommendations for recruiters, further research and limitations of this study have been laid out. -
PublicationFactors Affecting The Purchasing Decision to Buy The Fresh Food – Empirical Study in Vissan Stores, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam( 2020)Vũ Minh HiếuWith the recent development of the economy and technological revolutions, lifestyle, income, and consumer behavior have changed dramatically. Additionally, the satisfaction of customers’ needs and concerns should be constantly done in all organizations. , this study is to explore factors affecting the purchasing decision to buy fresh food in Vissan stores in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The qualitative and quantitative methods have been employed through content analysis, the consultations with 5 experts, 2 group discussions, and 3 in-depths structured interviews with 20 random customers, and 300 surveyed questionnaires with the customers. The findings show 5 factors as Promotion, Income, Price, Place, and Product in the empirical evidence of factors impacting on consumers’ decisions on purchasing the fresh food. This results will be a valuable source of information for the Vissan Corporation in their management and for pedagogical activities for all same cases

On the basis of Vietnamese revolutionary practices and world revolutionary practices, Ho Chi Minh’s thought was soon formed about great national unity. This study focuses on analyzing Ho Chi Minh’s view on the need for national unity, the role of national solidarity for the Vietnamese revolution and the application of this ideology by the Communist Party of Vietnam in the current period.

PublicationIntegrated Marketing Communication in Promoting Solar Energy in Vietnam( 2020)Nguyen Hoang MaiSolar radiation is an endless source of renewable energy and is friendly to the environment. The use of solar energy contributes to replace the fossil energy sources, which protect the environment and bring benefits of economic. Vietnam is a region with relatively large and stable annual solar radiation. However, the use of solar energy in Vietnam and especially in Ho Chi Minh City has not yet developed. One of the reasons that can be seen is the lack of communication and promotion programs for the community to better understand the economic efficiency as well as the environmental benefits of solar energy. Based on research about the status and potential of solar energy in Vietnam and the results of 20 in-depth interviews with target audience in Ho Chi Minh City in early 2020; this research concludes that people do not fully understand the economic benefit and environmental efficiency of solar energy. So integrated marketing communications programs to promote solar energy system are essential for various stakeholders. With the objective is to help customers understand and raise their awareness about the importance and benefits of solar energy systems as well as understand the economic efficiency and benefits for the community when using solar energy systems; this research create the potential for using solar energy as a local energy source to completely replace traditional forms of energy in Vietnam.

PublicationJohn Locke's Educational Ideology with Educational Innovation in Vietnam Today( 2020)Huynh Thi Phuong ThuyJohn Locke (1632-1704) is one of the most influential names in Western European society during the bourgeois revolutions. In his system of philosophy, education ideology plays a rather important role. Locke published a book of ""Few Reflections on Education"" in 1693, in which he formulated his philosophy of education. His views on education were radical for that era, and even though he wrote them nearly 400 years ago, they continue to influence the way we think about education and raising children today. Jonh Locke is a truly influential thinker and he is part of the group of British philosophers considered empirical, who believe that our knowledge and understanding of the world comes to us through ""sensory experience"". In the framework of the article, the author clarifies some educational ideas of J. Locke, thereby analyzing its significance for the current Vietnamese educational innovation.

It’s time to change the way of thinking, perception of the world. How to prevent human-induced harm? How to develop to satisfy current needs without compromising the ability of future generations? How to keep resources and environment clean for the next generation? In this article, I explore how the population explosion affects the environment; solutions to limiting population growth as well as limiting environmental pollution in Vietnam.

PublicationReligious Policy and Freedom of Religious Activity at Vietnam( 2020)Nguyễn Văn ĐạoThis study focuses on analyzing religious policy and religious activities in Vietnam since “Innovation” (1986). This study shows that there has been a fundamental change in the state’s policy towards religions, the state creates all conditions for religions to operate in accordance with the law, associate religion with the daily life of the people. This study also analyzes religious trends in Vietnam in the new period, such as the trend of the secularization of religion, the trend of religious modernization, emerging religious phenomena, religious ways newly formed and characterized of new some religious phenomena. The author then asserted the need for both theoretical and practical research on religious trends and policies in the new situation, the positive and negative factors of religious trends, the need continue to amend and amend religious policies, contributing to improving the policies of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam on religion, ensuring democracy and equality in religious activities in Vietnam.

VuAfter the World Health Organization declared the new Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic on March 11, 2020, as of March 23, more than 350,000 cases were confirmed globally [1]. The infection has skyrocketed to 5-digit numbers in several countries [1]. Vietnam, however, which shares a long border and has a massive volume of trade with China, appears to have a good hold on the spread of the disease. Since the first case of COVID-19 was announced on January 23, there have been only 123 infected cases with zero death confirmed [1,2]. Thus, we write this letter to shed more light about epidemiological maps of cases in Vietnam and also provide helpful information for epidemiologists and policy makers to address specific measures in response to the pandemic. -
PublicationThe governance quality-growth nexus revisited: A new evidence from the Bayesian multilevel generalized linear model( 2020)

In these studies, the effect of various elements on the economic growth, such as public expenditure, inflation, labor, private investment, etc., has been examined. In this study, the effect of governance on the economic growth in 43 Asian countries is considered during the period from 2004 to 2016. Using the Bayesian multilevel generalized linear model, it is estimated that governance has a positive impact on economic growth with a probability of more than 80%. Based on this, policy implications are provided for improving the governance quality to promote economic growth. -

PublicationTiêu chí để đánh giá giá nhà ở Việt Nam cao hay thấp?( 2020)Hàng Nhật QuangRất nhiều chuyên gia và nhà đầu tư nhận định cho rằng giá bất động sản Việt Nam (BĐS Việt Nam) đang quá cao so với giá trị thực tế. Thậm chí, có ý kiến nhấn mạnh tâm lý chuộng việc chọn bất động sản làm “của để dành" nên giá nhà đất bị đẩy giá. Tuy nhiên, nếu nhìn nhận khách quan, thị trường BĐS Việt Nam mới chỉ ở giai đoạn sơ khai, còn rất nhiều tiềm năng để phát triển. Với điều kiện tiện nghi môi trường nhà ở không ngừng thay đổi và có xu hướng ngày càng hoàn thiện hơn phát triển theo nhu cầu ngày càng phong phú của con người thì giá BĐS Việt Nam được đánh giá đang trong giai đoạn hấp dẫn. Vì vậy trong nghiên cứu này, tác giả xem xét một số cách thức định giá nhà đất trên thế giới, từ đó rút ra bài học cho thị trường Việt Nam, như: Nhóm yếu tố tự nhiên; Nhóm yếu tố kinh tế; Nhóm các yếu tố liên quan ảnh hưởng đến giá nhà ở Việt Nam. Ngoài ra. tác giả cũng đã đưa ra những khuyến nghị để người lao động Việt có thể mua được nhà ở.

PublicationTừ ý định đến quyết định chọn hoạt động trong chuyến đi đến thạnh phú của du khách nội địa( 2020)Đoàn Xuân DiệpThạnh Phú là một điểm đến du lịch nông thôn còn khá mới ở tỉnh Bến Tre, có tài nguyên để phát triển các sản phẩm du lịch thiên nhiên, nông nghiệp, văn hóa. Nghiên cứu này thực hiện khảo sát ý kiến du khách nội địa tiềm năng và hiện tại để xác định các hoạt động ưa thích và hài lòng trong chuyến đi đến Thạnh Phú của họ. Thưởng thức hải sản và giao lưu với cư dân là hai hoạt động đạt được mức hài lòng cao nhất với giá trị trung bình lần lượt là 4,1 và 3,9.
