It is unconditionally the top priority for ASEAN nations that have to cope with the rising China in all aspects in the Asia-Pacific region. This article is using case study and comparative empirical analysis to examine the impact of ASEAN-China strategic imbalance on Vietnam’s national security. However, this relationship still shows many difficulties and obstacles that the two sides need to solve and overcome to benefit from potential of each other. The first aim of this article is to focus on overall complex but imbalanced relationship between ASEAN and China that could pose real threats to ASEAN nations including Vietnam in terms of its inability to counterbalance the increasingly assertive China in the region. PublicationDeveloping a Vietnamese Tourism Question Answering System Using Knowledge Graph and Deep Learning( 2021)
;Phuc Do ;Truong H. V. PhanBrij B. GuptaIn recent years, Question Answering (QA) systems have increasingly become very popular in many sectors. This study aims to use a knowledge graph and deep learning to develop a QA system for tourism in Vietnam. First, the QA system replies to a user's question about a place in Vietnam. Then, the QA describes it in detail such as when the place was discovered, why the place's name was called like that, and so on. Finally, the system recommends some related tourist attractions to users. Meanwhile, deep learning is used to solve a simple natural language answer, and a knowledge graph is used to infer a natural language answering list related to entities in the question. The study experiments on a manual dataset collected from Vietnamese tourism websites. As a result, the QA system combining the two above approaches provides more information than other systems have done before. Besides that, the system gets 0.83 F1, 0.87 precision on the test set. -
PublicationEmployees’ psychological capital, burnout, and quality of work-life in Vietnamese enterprises: Moderating effects of individual and organisational characteristics( 2021)
;Nguyen Mai HongNgo Vu MinhDrawing from Positive Organisational Behaviour theory, this research studies the interrelationships of psychological capital, burnout, and quality of work-life with the highlighted moderation of organisational and personal characteristics. The proposed research model on these interrelationships is verified with a sample of 302 employees in both Vietnamese public and private enterprises and the structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques. The results suggest that psychological capital is positively related to the quality of work-life and is negatively related to employees’ burnout. In contrast, burnout is negatively related to the quality of work-life. These results suggest the mediating effects of burnout in the relationship between psychological capital and quality of work-life. Additionally, findings show that organisational ownership characteristics moderate the impacts of psychological capital on burnout and those of burnout on employees’ quality of work-life as well. However, the moderating effects of demographic characteristics (age and gender) are insignificant. These findings provide several implications for managers to take the advantages of psychological capital in their recruiting, training, and career development programs for employees. -

PublicationFactors Influencing Museum Visits: An Empirical Study in Vietnam( 2021)Nguyen Thi Ngoc LanThis paper aims to investigate factors affecting museum visits of young people in Vietnam by sending questionnaires to 2106 young people aged between 14–30 in Vietnam. With the support of SPSS version 2016 and STATA version 22, this paper illustrates that the empirical findings are appropriate with previous literature reviews. Research hypotheses such as learning purposes, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and museum architecture are significantly and positively correlated with museum visits measured through customer visiting intention, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. Furthermore, males have a stronger interest in visiting the museum but a low re-visit intention than females. People with a higher level of education and higher income are also more likely to visit the museum than those with a lower level of education and income. Finally, the research results suggest that the family class and the orientation of parents play an important role in encouraging children to increase museum visiting intention; however, children of high-class families are less likely to have a high intention, satisfaction, and loyalty toward museum visitation than children of lower-class families.

It is one thing to explain why Confucianism has such an immense influence on many East Asian countries. PublicationPopulation Growth on The Environment: A Short Review( 2021)Nguyễn Văn ĐạoPopulation and environment are two closely related factors. The development of one factor is related to the development of another factor, namely: The change of the population has a positive or negative impact on the environment and a sustainable or unsustainable development environment resources also have the opposite effect in human society by both sides. Especially in the current socio-economic development trend, the above relationship is shown more clearly. PublicationReligiosity, employee empowerment and employee engagement: an empirical analysis( 2021)
;Chijioke Nwachukwu ;Helena Chládková ;Richard Selase AgbogaHieu Minh VuPurpose The purpose of this study was to enhance our understanding of the connection between religiosity, employee empowerment and employee engagement. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on the social exchange theory, a framework of hypotheses is developed that focusses on religiosity, employee empowerment and their impact on employee engagement. This research employed a quantitative survey and data obtained from 232 adults working in companies in Accra Ghana. Findings The results suggest that religiosity dimensions (extrinsic and intrinsic) have a counterbalancing effect on employee engagement dimensions (intellectual and affective). Employee empowerment predicts both intellectual and affective engagement. Research limitations/implications This study has some limitations which provide opportunities for more research. First, the study is cross-sectional and focusses on employees in selected companies in Accra Ghana. More so, the participants were a convenience, majorly men (only 28% were women). This limits the generalisability of the findings and our confidence in ascertaining the “cause” and “effect” in the relationship. The present paper used a quantitative research approach; mixed method may provide in-depth insight into the subject. The study examined the direct relationship between religiosity, employee empowerment and employee engagement. Future research should explore how the effect of religiosity and employee empowerment on a relevant outcome changes according to other organisational characteristics. Practical implications Organisations must develop more interest in religion's relevance and its impact on their employees' engagement. This should be done by providing the necessary platforms for employees to practice their religion. There is the likelihood of lack of engagement when an organisation fails to consider employee religious orientation or attempts to unduly regulate employees' religiosity. Empowering work environment can promote a higher level of employee engagement. It is obvious that empowered employees are focussed, energetic, enthusiastic and have positive disposition to work. These positive attitudes lead to a higher level of engagement which fosters productivity and overall organisational performance. Originality/value This study could contribute to the literature on religiosity, employee empowerment and employee engagement in the Ghanaian context. Therefore, there is a need to keep employees engaged and enhance productivity. This study underpins the importance of religiosity and employee empowerment in fostering employee engagement and productivity in the Ghana work setting.
