dc.description.abstract The paper focuses on the flow in the coastal area of Ho Chi Minh City in stormy conditions. In this study, using hydraulic model MIKE 21 with wind and pressure conditions in Tropical Storm Pakhar (2012). The model is calibrated and verified by actual water level data measured at Nha Be, Vam Co, Vam Sat, Dong Tranh, Nga Bay and Cai Mep stations, showing good correlation, ensuring tissue reliability. The simulation results show that, when there is a storm, the average water level rise is about 10 cm in estuary areas, while at rivers, the water level rises by 5 cm. The results show the influence of the storm on the study area, which if combined with rain could cause flooding
