Abstract
ENHANCEMENT OF THE TEACHING QUALITY IS ALWAYS AN ESSENTIAL ISSUE IN THE HIGHER
EDUCATION, AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FEEDBACK FROM THE SOCIETY AND STUDENTS HAS
BEEN INCREASINGLY EMPHASIZED BY HIGHER EDUCATION AUTHORITIES AND INSTITUTIONS
BECAUSE IT IS A CONSIDERABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION TO ENHANCE THE EDUCATION
QUALITY. THIS PAPER AIMS TO EXPLORE THE FEEDBACK AND GAP BETWEEN EXPECTATIONS,
PERCEPTIONS OF STUDENTS AND EXPERTS ON THE COURSE OF PUBLIC SPEAKING (PS) IN THE
VIETNAM UNIVERSITIES. THE STUDY HAS EMPLOYED 2 METHODS OF THE QUALITATIVE AND THE
QUANTITATIVE. THE QUALITATIVE RESULT IS FROM THE INTERVIEWS WITH STUDENTS AND
CONSULTATIONS FROM EXPERTS WHO ARE AS SOCIETAL FACTORS OF THE EDUCATIONAL QUALITY
SYSTEM, AND THE QUANTITATIVE OUTCOMES ARE FROM THE QUESTIONNAIRE WITH 267
UNDERGRADUATES AND GRADUATES. ADDITIONALLY, IMPORTANCE-PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
(IPA) HAS BEEN DONE WITH 11 ATTRIBUTES. THE RESULTS WILL BE USED AS A FOUNDATION TO
REVIEW AND DEVELOP THE SYLLABUS TOWARDS THE SOCIETY-CONCENTRATED PURPOSE.
